Sydney is very child friendly. Shopping centres sometimes provide dedicated parking bays for parents with strollers and inside you will normally find baby rooms for changing and feeding. Some of the better ones even provide a microwave for warming bottles and a TV to watch while you feed. Many restaurants have children’s menus and they will often provide crayons and paper to entertain little ones. You can find some good child-friendly pubs too. Hotels generally offer baby-sitting services and in many resorts, kids’ clubs are run during school holidays. Pick up a copy of Kidfriendly at the visitor’s centres in Sydney. You may also come across a free copy of Sydney’s Child, often displayed in pharmacies, libraries and childcare centres. This is worth picking up too, or you could visit the website www.sydneyschild.com.au. Sydney for Under Fives by Seana Smith has some useful information and tips.
