As well as being one of the safest cities in the world, Singapore is very family oriented and children receive tremendous attention and pampering. With 20% of the resident population under the age of 15, this city-state is geared for children. Restaurants will normally have a children’s menu and baby chairs. Virtually all condominiums have a children’s playground and swimming pools usually have a separate shallow pool for young children.

Sentosa Island, East Coast Park, West Coast Park, Pasir Ris Park and Singapore Zoo are fabulous places for children, offering themed amusement parks, water parks and plenty of child-friendly activities. Many families employ full-time maids so babysitting services are uncommon, but working couples can leave children in a daycare centre, of which there are many.
