Two extensive projects are underway that will significantly change Singapore’s commercial, residential, industrial and tourism landscape. The Marina Bay will be transformed into a new financial and business district, juxtaposed with residential and commercial properties, together with leisure, entertainment and cultural facilities. While Sentosa and the southern isles are being transformed into one of Asia’s top family tourist destinations.

The seamless extension of the existing commercial centre into Marina Bay is the centrepiece of the redevelopment of the present city area. It will host ultra-modern offices integrated with apartments, shops, entertainment and food outlets.

HarbourFront Development

This landmark development spans 24 hectares and lies at the foothills of Mount Faber along Singapore’s southern waterfront overlooking Sentosa island. It will encompass cruise and ferry terminals, Singapore’s only cableway system, and a multi-concept entertainment hub in a heritage building.

lntegrated Resorts

There will be two Integrated Resorts (IRs), one at Marina Bay and the other on Sentosa Island, each a themed mega tourist destination. The plan is for the IRs to be iconic tourist destinations offering world-class entertainment and leisure facilities such as hotels, restaurants, retail outlets, theatres and themed attractions. The jewel in each of these super resorts will be a Las Vegas-styled casino.

Marina Barrage

A dam built across the Marina channel will turn Marina Bay into a reservoir providing a fresh water supply and a year-round stable water level for water-based activities, events and sports such as F1 powerboat racing.

The Pinnacle@Duxton

Built by the Housing and Development Board, these will be the tallest public housing buildings in Singapore. Providing 1,800 new homes, they comprise seven 48 storey blocks linked by sky parks at the 26th storey and roof level.

The Sail
