Despite its size, the whole of China observes the same time as Beijing, which is eight hours ahead of UCT (Universal Coordinated Time, the same as Greenwich Mean Time, or GMT). Daylight saving is not operated, so clocks stay the same all year. The table lists time differences between Shanghai and various cities around the world, not incorporating daylight saving time in any country.
