General Information » Getting Around » Boat

With so much coastline there is plenty for boat owners to see and do, but there are no regular passenger services linking coastal towns and cities. There was previously a ferry service between Iran and Qatar, operated by the Qatar National Navigation Company, but this has been indefinitely halted. However, it is possible to take a boat ride to some of the offshore islands or to cruise the bay aboard a traditional dhow. The best bet is to contact one of the local tour operators for island tours, see p.109.
