The euro replaced the French franc in 2002, and is currently used in 13 member states of the European Union (forming the Eurozone). Though originally weak against the dollar, the euro has risen steadily over its existence.

One euro is broken into 100 centimes. Coin are available in 1c, 2c, 5c, 10c, 20c, 50c, €1, and €2 denominations. Notes come in denominations of €5, €10, €20, €50, €100, €200, and €500.
