Several years ago, the City of Paris formed a committee to discuss a mass transit system on the Seine. Nothing ever came of it. The closest thing Paris has is the Batobus, which is really only used by tourists.

The Batobus has eight stops between the Eiffel Tower and the Jardin des Plantes. Times differ throughout the year, with maximum hours from 10:00 to 21:00 May to September. No service in February. Day tickets cost €11, with two-day, monthly, and season passes available.

For more information visit www.batobus.com or call 01 44 11 33 99.
