Three youth hostels have recently been built in Al Kamil town and the Al Wusta and Dhofar regions. Another hostel is planned in Al Dakhiliya. However, these hostels are primarily aimed at encouraging Omani youth to explore their country and should not be seen as ‘backpacker’ accommodation. For those travelling on a budget, some of the smaller hotels and the rest houses are good options.
