While you won’t see many tourists cycling their way around Oman, it can be an enjoyable way to see the country. There are no designated bike lanes, so the busiest parts of Muscat and the highways are best avoided if you’re on two wheels. However in the quieter areas there are some good riding spots, and you’ll probably see parts of Oman that you might miss in a car.

In the hotter months there is a higher risk of heat exhaustion, dehydration and sunburn, so take the necessary precautions.
