General Information » Entering Oman » Leaving Oman

There are no specific concerns about leaving Oman, by road or by air, except for the usual security requirements of not carrying any prohibited goods/weapons. You will need to be sure that you obtain an exit stamp on your passport if you are driving out through an Omani border, or you will have major problems getting back in again.

The majority of airlines in Oman require the passenger to reconfirm the booking in advance of travel. This should be done through the local representative of the airline you are travelling with. Check-in counters close one hour before flight departure so allow plenty of time for traffic, waiting in queues or any other hiccup in your schedule. Baggage allowances vary between different airlines and classes of travel and the limits are enforced quite strictly, so watch that weight!

Each airline has a different policy regarding unaccompanied minors, but in general, a form has to be completed at the airline office with details of the parents/guardian, receiving person, spoken languages, special requirements etc. You will need to book this service in advance and there may be a charge. Check with your particular airline for further details.
