General Information » Money » Money

Cash and cards are pretty much interchangeable in New Zealand. Even the smallest shops have EFTPOS, a widely used electronic payment system that debits money directly from NZ bank accounts, and which can usually handle credit card transactions as well. Many shops, service stations and other outlets often offer a cashback service on debit cards. The only accepted currency in use is the New Zealand Dollar.
