General Information » Money » Banks

Every town centre has a bank of some description, probably one of New Zealand’s big five – The National Bank, ANZ, ASB, BNZ and Westpac, all of whom are affiliated with foreign banks. In addition, there are a number of smaller local banks and overseas operations. New Zealand banks offer a full range of financial services. Larger branches usually have a dedicated area for money exchange, and smaller branches will usually change foreign currency into Kiwi dollars if you ask. Opening hours are generally 08:00 or 09:00 until 16:30. For more detailed information on opening a bank account.
