General Information » Getting Around » Tram

Trams only operate in Christchurch. And they are a delight – both an efficient way to move about, and, with beautifully restored carraiges from 1905 plying much of the route, wonderfully easy on the eye. The tramway runs a 2.5km circular loop through the city centre, taking in many of its most famous sights, including Cathedral Square and the Botanical Gardens. Tickets are valid for two consecutive days at a cost of $12.50. Local residents can purchase a discounted pass. For more information, phone 03 3667830 or visit www.tram.co.nz.
