General Information » Getting Around » Airport Transfer

Public ground transportation connecting to either regional or light rail networks serve both major airports. You can just as easily catch a cab (although this is the most expensive option) or even a commuter bus. Different to public buses, these will pick you up from your gate within 20 minutes (or less) and deliver you straight to your home or hotel doorstep at a fraction of a cab price (an average cost for a one-way trip would be about $19 from JFK to Manhattan). You can book in advance or simply rock up to the free phone desk by the exit and pay the driver when he drops you off. These privately run companies will also move you the other way, picking you up at your doorstep and delivering you safely to your chosen airport.
