Residents » Overview » When You Leave

If and when you decide to pack up and leave London behind, there are a number of things you need to take care of before you take off:

Accommodation – if you are renting, make sure you give the required notice to the landlord (normally a month) and leave the property in good order to ensure the return of any deposit.

Utilities – have your utilities disconnected or taken out of your name, and pay any outstanding bills.

Possesions – consider what you want to do with your belongings. Arrange shipping to your next destination or storage if you are intending to return.

Car – if you have a car, make arrangements to sell it (see p.155).
