The capital’s main tourist office is the Britain and London Visitor Centre at Lower Regent Street (0870 1566366), near Piccadilly Circus tube. It’s open seven days a week, from 09:00 to 18:30 on weekdays (09:30 on Mondays), and from 10:00 to 16:00 at weekends (09:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays from June to September). The shop provides free information, travel and destination advice for visitors to London and Britain, and can help with booking tickets, accommodation and transport. Staff are multilingual, meaning that queries can be answered in French, German, Italian, Russian and Japanese, among others. The London Information Centre in Leicester Square (7292 2333) provides a similar service, and is open from 08:00 to 23:00 on weekdays and 10:00 to 18:00 on weekends. There are several other local tourist information offices around town, see www.visitbritain.com for locations.
