Accommodation is pretty varied although generally not cheap. The Kuwait Hotel Owner’s Association has a fixed price for its five-star hotels. There are currently over 50 hotels in Kuwait, including resorts, with licences issued for a further 100, although it remains to be seen whether all of them will actually be constructed.

Hotel apartments vary tremendously in quality and price. Guesthouses, as they are known in the west, are non-existent. Youth hostels seem to have fallen off the radar, and camping sites are little more than open areas in the desert where the local population spend time enjoying the cool weather between December and March.
