General Information » Facts & Figures » Local Time

Ireland is on UCT, Universal Coordinated Time (formerly known as GMT). Daylight savings add one hour from the last Sunday in March (clocks change at 01:00 local standard time) until the last Sunday in October when the clocks go back one hour (clocks change at 02:00 local daylight time). As the clocks go back one hour, evening daylight is reduced to the extent that in the heart of winter, it starts getting dark shortly after 16:30. In the summer, however, the days seem blissfully endless, with the sun only setting at 22:30.
