If you and your SLR are inseparable, you will be happy to hear that it is perfectly acceptable to follow your urge to hunt down the perfect shot while in Dublin. Most sights permit photography and the few that don’t (such as Dublin Castle) display an array of signs to make sure that no mistakes are made. Unless they believe it steals their soul, people are usually more than willing to pose for you, as long as you ask for their permission first. Outside of Dublin though, be warned that people are very much aware of the fact that picturesque settings and old horse-drawn carriages sell on for big bucks and may expect a cut!
