General Information » Money » Tipping

Since bar, cafe and restaurant staff are paid decent salaries, tips are appreciated, but not expected. If they tip at all, locals leave small change or round up the bill. In classier joints, tips run higher, but often still less than 10% of the bill. Ask if you can add a tip to your credit card charge; sometimes you can't.

Tip taxi drivers and hotel crew a Euro or two for helping you with your luggage, and if you get a good haircut drop a few Euros in the tip jar you may see near the cash register.
