Bahrain’s target tourist market is in the middle to upper range and is well supplied with hotels and serviced apartments, but does not have any official youth hostels or campsites. There are over 80 hotels in the Manama area with over 7,000 rooms available.

All hotels and apartments are generally up to international standards for their rating though some of the three-star and below hotels might be regarded as below standard by visitors from the developed world. Serviced apartments range from top-class luxury apartments (many of which are attached to the upper level hotels and therefore have excellent facilities), to very basic apartments which are mostly let to weekend visitors and which vary significantly in cost.
