Entry Visas

Citizens of the GCC countries (Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait, Qatar and Oman) do not require visas to enter Bahrain. Citizens of 35 countries, which include the USA, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, most EU countries, Norway and Switzerland can obtain a tourist visa on arrival for BD5 or US$13.25. This is for two weeks and can be extended for a further two for BD5, and BD40 for a second extension of up to one month. Citizens from all other countries require visas from the appropriate embassies prior to arrival in Bahrain. British passport holders receive a three month visa on arrival, which can be extended for a further three months for BD5. For full details, check the Ministry of Immigration's website: www.evisa.gov.bh, where you can check visa requirements for every nationality, and in many cases can apply for a visa online.

Visit visas only are issued at the Saudi Causeway entry to Bahrain. All other visas are issued either at the port, airport or the ministry in Manama.
