General Information » Entering Bahrain » Meet & Greet

Meet and Greet services are available at Bahrain Airport through tour operators, hotels and airlines. These tend to be located outside the customs area in the main arrivals area. The Bahrain Airport Authorities have a Customer Service Counter in the arrivals area and will deliver documents to arriving passengers for a small fee; BD 3 or US$ 8. They can also arrange for Meet and Greet inside the prohibited areas in special cases.

The journey from the plane to the customs area for disembarking passengers is relatively short, approximately 10 minutes. There is no viewing platform in arrivals but as all arriving passengers use the same exit into the arrivals hall it is relatively easy to spot them. People who know the airport tend to designate their own meeting points (cafe or shop), and as the airport is small this does not generally present a problem.

There is a duty free shop in arrivals (after immigration and before customs). There are also banks, ATMs, car hire, hotel booking and customer service booths in the arrivals hall. Luggage trolleys are available for personal use and porters are also available at a minimum charge of 100 fils per bag.

A word of warning: if the baggage from your flight arrives on the carousel before you get to the baggage area to pick it up, a porter will probably have taken it off the carousel before it disappears back into the baggage loading area, so you need to check the ever-growing pile of suitcases beside the end of the carousel, in case yours is there. There’s nothing more frustrating than waiting for your suitcase to arrive and then finding when the carousel stops that it has been sitting there for the past half an hour.
