Old world charm merges with new world buzz in one of the most unique and exciting kingdoms in the Gulf.

In Bahrain you’ll experience a kingdom of contrasts; old and new, luxury and tradition, sprawling desert and towering structures, historical scenes and modern architecture. Known for its hospitality, it represents a fascinating blend of traditional Arab and western cultures and, unlike many of its regional neighbours, it has a large local population living alongside its expatriate residents.

While not yet viewed internationally as a tourist destination, the kingdom is truly an undiscovered gem and the government is working hard for recognition in travellers’ minds. As a visitor to the island this is great news for you; take advantage of the burgeoning infrastructure, inexpensive nightlife and new hotels.

While a little cliched, it is the people of Bahrain and their pride in their home country that sets the place apart from its neighbours; warm welcomes and genuinely friendly service are all part of life here. While the atmosphere in the capital of Manama can be a little frenetic - which isn’t helped by the driving - there’s a pretty laid back vibe with little animosity between the various groups in society.
