General Information » Places To Stay » Hostels

The UAE is not currently a budget destination. Nevertheless, inexpensive accommodation in hostels is available in most of the emirates and there are plans for several mid range and budget hotels to be built. The hostels are networked and they do cooperate with advance bookings and some other issues. A Hostelling International membership card is required, UAE residents can apply for annual membership from the Dubai hostel, the cost is approximately Dhs.100. Alternatively, you can choose to pay a higher, non member, rate per night. To apply, you will need to complete an application form and provide a passport copy and two passport photos.

Accommodation is available for men, women and families. Single women should check availability, as the management reserves the right to refuse bookings from single women when the hostel is busy with men. Hostels can be found in Dubai, Sharjah, Fujairah and Khor Fakkan.
