General Information » Essential Info » Health Requirements

Unless you have recently been in an area where you could have been exposed to cholera or yellow fever, there is no need to get a health certificate before you enter Abu Dhabi. Restrictions do change though, so it is better to check health requirements before you travel. You can check the following website for updates on vaccinations you may require before entering any country: www.who.int/ith/en.

There is no risk of getting malaria in the city of Abu Dhabi. However, the female anopheles mosquito (the one that carries malaria) has been spotted occasionally in the mountain and wadi areas of the UAE. The risk can be seen as so small that it may be preferable just to avoid being bitten (by using repellant and wearing suitable clothes), rather than take a course of anti-malarial medication. Your doctor or travel professional will be able to advise you on the best action to take based on your personal circumstances.
