Wadi Bani Awf

This is one of the most spectacular wadis in the country, and a perennial favourite. The route cuts right to the base of the massive north face of Jabal Shams, and nestled at the base of this 1,100m cliff is the picturesque village of Balad Sayt – arguably the prettiest in all of Oman. Along the way you'll have the chance to explore side canyons and of course, the adventure route in Oman: Snake Canyon. As an added attraction, you can continue over to the other side of the Hajar mountains and connect with routes there (see Routes 6, 7 and 8).
