The latest World Tourism Barometer from the UN World Tourism Organisation has shown an increase in international tourism arrivals in the first quarter of 2007. The studies revealed a 6% increase in arrivals, reaching up to 252 million. The Asia Pacific region exhibited the largest growth, a 9% increase*. With tourism experiencing a boost across the globe, leading publisher, Explorer Publishing has continued to spread its wings internationally, releasing five new Mini Visitors’ Guides including London, New York, Sydney and in Asia Pacific, Singapore and Hong Kong.

Alistair MacKenzie, Managing Director, Explorer Publishing, comments: "Tourism is one of the ever-growing industries, and catering to the market is what we are good at. We have recently developed Mini Visitor Guides for five new international destinations to coincide with the tourism boom. Each city, including London, New York, Hong Kong, Sydney and Singapore are significant to us as they are major cities that play an important role in the development of tourism. "

Continued: "The fantastic thing about our Mini Guides is that they are written by local residents, which means the reader can gain a real insight into the city they are visiting. They are also ideally pocket sized for those on the go."

While there is a myriad of guidebooks on the market for just about every country in the world, the beauty of the Explorer Mini Visitors’ Guides is that they provide the inside story on the destination. With in-depth, on-the-ground research undertaken by experts living in the country or city, the reader receives first-hand knowledge.

The Mini Guides provide knowledge on essentials, exploring, activities, restaurants, bars, shopping and more. They also benefit from detailed area maps and a mini pull out map of the city’s central area highlighting key attractions such as hotels and shopping malls.

"Culturally, Little India is one of the richest districts in Singapore, offering you experiences ranging from savouring fish-head curry and masala tea along Racecourse Road to getting a henna tattoo or visiting a parrot fortune teller…" A snap shot of one of our latest Mini Visitors’ Guides, Singapore.

"From a bunk bed in an art gallery to a shower with a view or even a goldfish company, New York’s hotels are anything but standard…" A taster into Explorer Publishing’s New York Mini Visitors’ Guide.

Founded in Dubai in 1995, Explorer Publishing started life as a one-man show. As a recently arrived expatriate to Dubai, MD Alistair MacKenzie set out to answer all the questions he had about moving, living and working in a new country. Since then, Explorer has vastly expanded its horizons, with the Visitor’s Mini Guides being one of the company’s latest editions aimed at the curious visitor. Currently covering Dubai and the GCC area, Hong Kong, Singapore, London, New York and Sydney, Explorer Publishing has firm plans for expansion, with global domination within sight.
